INTRODUCTION
The Concrete Canoe Club designs, builds, and races a concrete canoe each year. The students are responsible for all phases of design and construction. We develop a lightweight concrete mix and its reinforcements through experimentation, design and test the hull using Vacanti ProLines and SAP 2000, and construct the canoe.
The regional competition is usually held in late April or early May, and last two days. On the first night, we present our technical paper to a panel of judges. The second day is devoted to racing and judging the canoes.
