Kinematics and kinetics of particles. Work-energy and impulse-momentum principles. Systems of particles. Kinematics of rigid bodies. Plane motion of rigid bodies. Energy and momentum methods for rigid bodies. Introduction to vibration of structures: Free and forced vibration, Undamped and damped motion. Response to harmonic and arbitrary loading. Earthquake response spectra. Equivalent lateral load analysis and design using Uniform Building Code criteria. |
